Ajarn Premchit says that before one aspires to reach an executive level in the hospitality industry, they need to have a “service mind” which may be lacking in the young generation while the market demands even more customized service. However, service mind is one of the genuine characteristic of Thai people with the renowned “Thai Smile.” Thai hospitality experienced from locals sets the example for students studying hospitality in Payap. Thai culture also attracts qualified lecturers from different countries and develops a higher level of international education.

Ajarn Premchit completed her MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Prince of Songkla University, Phuket. Her thesis paper was about the consulting needs for the small or medium sized independent hotels in Bangkok and Phuket. Research included how small scale management differs from the chain operation management. She also worked in the sales and marketing section of Marriot International located in Phuket for six years. Her larger career profile includes working at a tour company, hotels and wedding consultant business.

She first experienced studying in an international setting in Chendigarh, India. She recalls the six years of secondary education in India as a “challenging time” coping with English and Indian languages and cultural differences. However, she learnt that passion will eventually overcome any obstacles, thus she understands what it is like to study as an international student outside of their home country. Ajarn Premchit values personal qualities such as “passion, patience and service mind” to excel in the Hospitality industry. For her hobby, she loves travelling, swimming and doing yoga.
